On behalf of the Maryland State Child Care Association Board of Directors and Professional Development Committee, we make the health and well being of all participating in our annual Conference by the Sea a priority. Our thoughts are with those impacted by the novel coronavirus19. Because this is a rapidly-evolving situation, we feel it is important to reach out.
As part of our commitment to, not only a quality training/conference experience, but to safety, Maryland State Child Care Association is monitoring and assessing daily the COVID19 situation related to the Conference by the Sea scheduled for April 30-May 3, 2020.
Today, the Governor of Maryland has banned gatherings over 250 people and we are gaining clarification on the timeline of the ban and will send a follow up communication by early next week.
Should we need to cancel this event, full refunds will be issued. Training voucher monies will also remain intact.
We are working with the Clarion Conference Center and Hotel, the Department of Health and the guidance from the CDC and the Governor to determine next steps.
MSCCA Professional Development Committee is working on alternative plans and dates, if necessary.
Thanks for your patience and support as we look continue to look forward to hosting an exceptional conference in 2020!
