We are hopeful that his intervention will speed up and help clear the weeks-long backlog of payments from the Maryland State Department of Education to the thousands of child care providers who have stepped up to care for the children of essential personnel. Without timely payment, many of these providers will very soon be forced to close their doors to essential personnel and some may not ever be able to reopen them.”
